About

Hi, I’m Nina, the founder of Ruff Terrain. I’ve been hiking the trails around Boulder for over a decade, and there’s nothing I love more than sharing that experience with dogs.

I’ve owned dogs for nearly 20 years, but one in particular changed everything—Rook. He developed serious behavioral challenges, and helping him grow into a confident and calm companion taught me patience, empathy, and a whole new level of dog handling. That experience shaped how I work with every dog today.

I’m certified in Pet First Aid by the American Red Cross, and I always put your dog’s safety and comfort first.

Whether we’re climbing rocky switchbacks or exploring wooded quiet paths, I bring deep trail knowledge, a calm presence, and a whole lot of love for dogs to every hike.
